Skelmersdale Town FC Brand Refresh
For this project, I created a refreshed brand identity for Skelmersdale Town FC, helping the club’s new owners introduce a more modern and distinctive visual style while celebrating the heritage and history of the town.
The aim was to develop a logo that felt contemporary, memorable, and meaningful to both the club and its supporters. Each element was carefully considered to represent the story of Skelmersdale, including the circular design inspired by Hope Island — the town’s famous landmark and Europe’s largest roundabout without traffic signals — creating a strong connection to the local community.
The Lancashire rose was incorporated to represent the club’s location, while the central tools pay tribute to Skelmersdale’s industrial heritage and its important connection to the coal mining industry during the 19th century.
By combining historic references with a modern design approach, the new identity provides the club with a refreshed look that honours its roots while creating a strong foundation for its future growth.
